Getting Help With Metrics

Frequently Asked Questions
What data are these metrics based on? Metrics are derived primarily from adjudicated medical and pharmacy claims and, in some cases, eligibility files.
How do I favorite metrics? To select your favorite metrics, click into Practice and locate the Metrics section on the bottom half of the page. To the right, in the top of the section, locate the gear icon next to "Metrics library". Clicking on Metrics library allows you to search for Metrics based on type and select favorites by clicking the star on the right side of a particular Metric.
How often are metrics updated? Metrics refresh on a regular cadence aligned with claims data availability. You can control how recent your data is by using the recency toggle but selecting more recent options are of lower quality.
Why don't my Metrics match what I see in my EHR or spreadsheet? Claims-based Metrics follow consistent definitions for diagnoses, procedures, and encounters, and may use different cohort rules or time windows than your local reports. Review the Metric definition and ensure you are comparing equivalent time periods and populations. It is possible that we do not capture your whole dataset, ensure you’re viewing the same timeframe or location in Jiro that correspond with your EHR or spreadsheet.
Can I see how a Metric is defined? Yes. Each Metric in the catalog includes a definition and calculation rules accessible through the drill-down view.
How should I use these Metrics in my practice? Use Metrics to identify patterns and outliers rather than to evaluate individual encounters. They are intended as starting points for identifying areas where clinical or operational patterns may warrant further review.
What should I do if I think a Metric is incorrect? Verify the time period, cohort, and units. Look at the complete view (including your recency/quality toggle) and you are viewing the correct location. If the value still appears incorrect, use the thumbs down icon and leave a comment with the Metric name, time period, and a description of the discrepancy. Additionally, check if your coverage is low by monitoring the number of patients or filling in the coverage form to get an estimation of your patient coverage in Jiro.
Common Issues
My patient panel appears incorrect Check the patient panel Metrics. These are patients found in your available compensation data. If it seems off, move your quality/recency toggle to compete for higher quality Metrics. If the problem persists, you can fill in the coverage form to check if we have low coverage for you.
Volume or cost appears too high or too low Confirm the patient panel Metrics. If you are attending, claims may be attributed to you that were performed by fellows or residents. For residents or fellows, claims may be attributed to your attendee’s NPI. Both instances may skew volume or cost appearances. Additionally, shorter date ranges make rates appear more volatile.
Diagnoses and procedures do not match clinical documentation Metrics use CCSR diagnosis codes which may differ from your clinical documentation.
Numbers do not match another reporting tool Different tools may use different cohort definitions, clinical rules, or time windows. Review the Metric definition to understand the parameters applied. Check the metric calculation rules located in the drill-down for more information.
Contact Support
